The Amazing World of Gumball is a hilarious animated television comedy series created by Ben Bocquelet for Cartoon Network. The show premiered on May 3, 2011 and ended on June 24, 2019. It is about a 12-year-old blue cat named Gumball Watterson and his adoptive brother 10-year-old Darwin, a gold-footed fish. The pair usually find themselves in funny situations thanks to their antics in the fictional town of Elmo, California.
The two main characters are usually accompanied by their families, including their sister Anais, their mother Nicole, and their father Richard. The show also includes a ton of different supporting characters. Many of these background characters are based on food, such as potatoes, hot dogs, or donuts, which often makes for some really funny scenes.
The show is especially unique in its deliberate lack of stylistic unity. Animation, puppetry, CGI, stop motion animation, and live action can all be seen in this show. I think it adds an element of glamor to the show that very few shows have. Thanks to the show's unique style and thoughtful humor, it has won many awards and built an impressive following. The show currently has millions of fans, making it one of Cartoon Network's most popular shows to date.
I think the bright colors and unique characters in this show would make a great LEGO set. As most would expect, while the show has a lot of young fans, there are also a lot of teens and adults who love it. From what I can tell, the show draws a huge crowd because it has elements that appeal to a lot of different audiences. In my opinion, this would provide a wide potential target market for LEGO games based on the show. I think it can also appeal to people who aren't normally Lego fans and convince them to give the brand a try.
While the main aspect of this idea is the Watterson house, the idea should be based on The Amazing World of Gumball as a whole. I think it would be great if LEGO finally produced sets based on many of the iconic places seen in Elmore. However, for that to happen, this needs to get 10,000 votes. So if you like Gumball, please consider upvoting!
As shown above, I tried to create an exact version of Watterson's house in LEGO form. I hope Gumball fans love this idea as much as I do! I have done my best to design this set in a way that it is suitable for both play and display. My idea is that this will make it appeal to a broader age group than most scenes.
That works:
The set includes two main buildings: the Wattersons' house and a shed in their backyard. Both have detailed interiors and exteriors, perfect for recreating scenes from the show! The shed roof can be removed for easy access to the interior, which includes plenty of boxes and tools.
The Wattersons' house is decidedly more complex, consisting of two stories, a removable roof, and a show floor. They can all be moved individually, as shown in one of the images above. In addition to the accessibility provided by removing the roof, the main floor can be opened in two different places, the front and the side. This makes it very easy to access all parts of the model without touching the ceiling. I think it adds some nice replayability to the series.
While the floor plan of the Wattersons' house doesn't make any sense on the show, I tried to keep it accurate. (This makes sense until you try to match the inside of the house to the outside of the house. This is where things start to get weird.)
I noticed that I left out a few rooms, including the parent's bedroom, laundry room, and loft. I found it difficult to include these rooms while keeping the exterior shape of the house as seen in the sample. I have included the doors of these rooms, but they are made with stickers. If this project gets enough votes to make it worth the extra time, you might decide to modify the house to include these rooms.

As for the numbers, there are many possibilities. At the very least, I think it makes sense that the group would include Gumball, Darwin, Anais, Nicole, and Richard. However, there are plenty of classic supporting characters that can be built in LEGO too!
While I can't suggest new LEGO elements in this project, I have worked out some concepts for possible figures that I will include in the "Updates" tab. I put a lot of thought into how to make these unique figures, so be sure to check them out! Also, if you have any unfinished LEGO characters, please leave a comment.
